Healthinsurance | New Pre-existing Condition Health Insurance Plan Now Open

Washington, D.C. (Press Release) – U.S. Senator Russ Feingold announced today that Wisconsinites who have long been denied health care coverage due to a pre-existing condition are now eligible to apply for a new health care insurance plan.  Created under the historic health care reform law, the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) will provide health coverage to millions of uninsured Americans who have been unable to obtain health coverage because of a pre-existing health condition. 

“Today, Wisconsinites who have been denied care or dropped from coverage because of a pre-existing condition are closer to receiving the care they need,” Feingold said.  “This new plan will knock down barriers too many Wisconsinites have faced and will help them start to take back control of their health care.  Ending the health insurance industry’s discrimination against some of the most vulnerable in our communities was one of the most significant pieces
